Santa Ana and its surrounding Pacific beach communities south of Los Angeles comprise one of the most densely populated areas in the country. Flanked by the Santa Ana River and the Santa Ana Mountains range, the county seat of Orange County is the home of Santa Ana College, California Coast University and the Art Institute of California - Orange County. Amtrak and Greyhound provide service to Santa Ana from San Diego or Los Angeles, and the John Wayne, formerly Orange County, Airport provides connections to the area's larger international airports.
